MALTON Monthly Food Market will celebrate the glories of autumn this Saturday, 9am to 3pm.

The cookery demos are now a key feature of the markets, and this month Nick Leadill from The Stone Trough Inn, Kirkham Abbey, will be the lead chef in the cookery theatre inside the Milton Rooms.

Nick said: “We are a traditional English country pub, offering fabulous food prepared by our chefs who have around 30 years’ experience between them. We delight in presenting good quality, home-cooked food using locally-sourced ingredients. "

There will also be a seasonal gathering of stallholder demonstrations from Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil from nearby Thixendale, and from first-time stall holders Baytown Coffee Company from Robin Hood’s Bay, with others to be announced in due course.

Tom Naylor-Leyland, Malton Monthly Food Market’s Organiser, said: “Our monthly market continues to promote top quality local produce here in Yorkshire’s Food Capital. Visitors can expect a warm Yorkshire welcome, enthusiastic stallholders and helpful volunteers, all of whom are essential to creating this friendly and inclusive event.”

Malton White Star Band will provide live music throughout the day while, as an added incentive, those who make a bakery purchase can claim a free cuppa at the indoor pop-up café, staffed by Malton CIC volunteers.
