A SERIES of special trains will give young people the chance to hear stories from costumed characters.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway Story Trains will run each Friday from July 25, with story different themes each week, including pirates, fairies and Harry Potter.

The services will all run on the 10am train from Pickering, with costumed characters from Make A Wish Entertainment performing between Pickering and Goathland until August 29.

The Fairy Story Train runs on 25 July and 15 August, whilst Pirates will be staging their on-board mutiny on 1 and 22 August. The Hogwarts story train departs from Pickering’s Platform 1 ¾ on Friday 8 and 29 August.

Pre-booking is advised, and tickets cost £20.50 for adults, £17.50 for seniors or £10.50 for children, while a family ticket – covering two adults and up to four children – costs £45.
