A FARM which has been earmarked as the home of a new billion pound potash mine has been purchased by the firm behind the project.
Last September, York Potash revealed detailed plans of its ambition to build a sunken head potash mine on National Park land, currently occupied by a farm and commercial forestry near Sneaton, Whitby.
Sirius Minerals, the parent company of York Potash, has completed the purchase of Doves Nest Farm. The completed sale totals about 100 acres of freehold ownership and includes farm buildings, the farmhouse and three separate holiday accommodation units.
