IT seems to me that Talia Minger has no idea of what actually goes on in an abattoir.
Animals killed there are not "killed in sickening conditions".
They do not know what is happening to them when they are killed.
They are stunned instantly and then killed. This is the most humane way to do it.
The people who farm livestock, the haulage company staff and the abattoir staff are probably the people most aware about caring for the health and welfare of these animals. It is very unlikely that farm animals would exist today if it weren't for them being a supply of meat. Especially sheep; sheep need a lot of time, effort and money to keep them fit and healthy. Without the care and attention of farmers many more sheep would die of natural causes.
These would be truly sickening ways to die.
By all means eat your vegetables, but don't forget the meat.
