Park disgust
I am disgusted with the actions of the current York Lib-Dem executive.
For more than a year I, along with Couns Crisp, Bowgett and others from the Labour Party, have been opposed to selling off Leeman Road's "Back Park" in my ward. It is an area left to the local people for leisure use by Rowntree.
Since our campaign started we have had more than 500 people from the Leeman Road area sign our petition against possible sell-off.
We have been told it is not for sale, that it could be for sale, a part of it is for sale, no the other part is for sale, and we have been accused of scaremongering.
After I submitted the petition to council, Couns Crisp and Bowgett tried to get the possible selling of Back Park removed from possible sale in the annual budget.
Coun Crisp made representations at the Lib-Dem executive, and the executive has decided to ignore Holgate residents and push forward with possible sale plans.
I see this sale as a spiteful act against an area with no other leisure facilities and one of the last gasps of a sinking administration.
Residents of Holgate and the rest of York will remember your actions.
Coun James Alexander, Holgate ward,
Flanders House,
Aldwark,
York.

As are many others (I think we must be in the majority by now)! The Lib-Dems have taken no notice of the people (who they were elected to represent) on numerous issues. Please can the other parties put their differences aside and form a coalition to remove them from power at the up-coming meeting!

The politicians that I prefer are the one's that realise that they usually muck things up and therefore their basic instinct is "leave well alone". It's my experience of liberals that, to the contrary, they are CERTAIN they can make a difference and go about their God-given task in a very pompous and arrogant style.
Liberals - the most dangerous of all political animals!
