WHILE not entirely in agreement with the ban on foxhunting by the Government, for reasons that, as far as I am aware, the fox has no natural predators, I do not agree with what went on at the shoot at Sandringham which included Prince Philip recently.

The size of shot used for shooting pheasant would not be used on any creature near resembling the size of a fox by any responsible shooter.

As the fox broke cover very quickly, it is unlikely the shooters had time to reload with heavier shot, which still would not have killed the animal outright.

There was no need to take pot shots at the animal with inadequate equipment, and it would have suffered terribly until relief came after being beaten to death.

Regardless of their standing in society, the perpetrators need bringing to task by the RSPCA.
