Sprinter Bolt swaps tracks for wax

Jamaica's Usain Bolt is set to be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds for the Olympics Jamaica's Usain Bolt is set to be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds for the Olympics

Sprinter Usain Bolt is swapping tracks for wax as sculptors race to immortalise the sprint star for Madame Tussauds.

The Jamaican world record holder is the latest Olympian to be given a place at the London attraction.

Bolt, the 100m and 200m ace, will be given a spot in the interactive sports zone in time for London 2012 when it opens in July.

Modelmakers are already out of the starting blocks after creating a clay version of the athlete's head from which the wax figure will be cast.

Bolt follows diving sensation Tom Daley and heptathlete Jessica Ennis, who have recently been unveiled at the venue.

Tussauds spokeswoman Liz Edwards said: "We are very excited to confirm Bolt's inclusion in time for the big event this summer.

"We have had such positive feedback to our British Olympians, Jessica Ennis and Tom Daley, we're confident sporting fans are going to love the latest international addition to the area."
