I find it difficult to express my feelings about this illegal, immoral, and pointless "war". Our soldiers are nothing more than patsies for the USA. There will never be victory - however that may be described - in Afghanistan. The Russians went in with tanks and guns and failed in 1979. Our boys are sent in with inadequate equipment and are failing to survive. Death in combat is one thing, but being blown up by home-made bombs by the roadside is another. Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, Bob Ainsworth et al, you are all liars and murderers by proxy. This has nothing to do with Britain. There is no threat to our country from anyone in Afghanistan. The biggest threat to our nation comes from Westminster itself. The sooner we have a general election the better. I now wait for Cllr. James Alexander to come and express his support for the policy of war - as that is what he does - follow the party line blindly to impress his New Liebour buddies who one day might be able to do him a favour. Bring our boys home now Brown. No more deaths for the USA.

I am getting sick of people failing to support our troops.

Yes, the 'war' may not be particularly moral and the chances of any sort of outcome are, lets face it, remote, but lets remember that the people who are and who have been serving out there are doing their jobs. They are not able to refuse. And the fact that most of them wouldn't is testament to their courage, bravery and valour.

I am disgusted by comments on various sites that express their disgust of the troops out there or by people's actions towards troops returning or waiting for deployment.

They are doing their jobs, and **** well in the circumstances. Let's forget the politics, and support OUR troops while we still can. We should be doing all we can to help them, not attacking them - they have enough danger of that from a very real and dangerous enemy! They shouldn't have it from the citizen's of their own country!

The best way of supporting the troops is to demand that they're brought home immediately.

We shouldn't waste any more young lives in war, which the US and Britain are slowly but surely losing.

That should have read "We shouldn't waste any more young lives in this war, which the US and Britain are slowly but surely losing."
