FULFORD School has said they are hopeful that a pupil who was found last week to have contracted bacterial meningitis will make a full recovery.
A spokesperson for the school said: “The child is doing well in hospital and has received very good early treatment. They will hopefully make a full recovery and should be discharged in the middle to the end of this week.”
They added that no further information could yet be provided.
The case was reported on Friday and head teacher Lorna Savage issued a letter to parents stressing that the risk of other students contracting the condition was low.
