YORK’S Christmas ice rink closed last night after attracting about 48,000 skaters from across the region over the festive season.
The Ice Factor rink, part of a Christmas fair held again at the Designer Outlet at Fulford, had a hugely successful season, said Maria Farrugia, spokeswoman for organisers, Lunchbox Theatrical Productions of Ryedale.
She said the rink had had a much larger community on Facebook and had attracted amazing responses on Tripadvisor.
“We have been carefully listening to all our customers to work out what we take on board for next year,” she said.
“Lunchbox loves organising this local event when so many of our theatre productions are overseas and to see how many families enjoy our event year on year makes us proud and thankful that we can deliver an event that every age loves.”
