YORKSHIRE Wildlife Trust has launched a wildlife photography competition looking for the best photographs of the region’s wild places and wildlife.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to capture a prize-winning image of some of Yorkshire’s stunning landscapes and the species that inhabit them, the deadline is January 31.

There are four categories open to all including Yorkshire’s wild places, native wildlife, Wildlife Watch for under-15s and smartphone snaps.

There is no fee to enter, although a donation to support the Wildlife Trust’s work to protect the region’s wild places is welcomed.

The competition is being run in partnership with Yorkshire Coast Nature, a nature-tour company based in East Yorkshire who are offering some top prizes including wildlife safaris and photography workshops with Steve Race, a finalist in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2013 competition.

Full details of the competition, including entry forms, uploading instructions and full terms and conditions can be found at ywt.org.uk/photo-competition-2015.
