VISITORS are being invited to bring a "guy" to Tockwith this Bonfire Night for the best dressed guy competition.

Tockwith and District Agricultural Society is holding a bonfire and fireworks display on its show field on Cattal Moor Lane for the sixth year running.

As part of the event, judges will be awarding a prize for the best dressed guy on Wednesday, November 5, before all the entries are placed on the bonfire ready for lighting.

Committee member Maureen Atkinson said: “We have a huge bonfire and a spectacular firework display which is run by professionals and is great value for money. It is a very popular event on Tockwith's calendar, and we have lots of visitors who come to have a safe and enjoyable bonfire night.

“Our guy competition is proving very popular and we can’t wait to see some creative entries this year. It’s a night for the whole family to enjoy and it also raises important funds for the annual Tockwith & District Agricultural Show, which is held every August.”

The gates open at 6pm, followed by the guy competition at 6.15pm. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the firework display begins at 7pm.

Entry is £4 for adults and free for children aged 12 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult.
