YORK Maze has launched its popular Hallowscream fright nights with the opening of a new haunted house attraction, based on a time travelling experience back to the streets of Victorian York.
Tom Pearcy, owner of the maze at Elvington, said Hallowscream was becoming increasingly popular, with a 50 per cent increase in visitors during the run-up to Hallowe'en last year.
He said he had added an extra night and the fright nights would open later each night this year to try to meet demand, but he thought it still looked as if all available tickets would sell out.
“This year we have built a huge new haunted house attraction, ‘1873 – dare you go back,” he said.
“You will enter a time-machine and travel back in time to 1873 to emerge onto the streets of Victorian York, where all manner of sinister experiences await.”
Hallowscream runs on selected nights until November 1, and tickets must be bought online in advance.
