CUSTOMERS at a York shopping centre were stunned as a crowd of denim-clad dancers suddenly leapt to their feet.

About ten dancers took part in the flash mob event at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet on three separate occasions.

The dancers wore all denim, to promote the Denim New Icons campaign, which launched around the country this month.

A spokeswoman for the centre said: “New Icons is a month long campaign celebrating the fantastic new denim offering at the centre. Throughout the campaign there will be exclusive store discounts, a double-denim discount and a denim treasure hunt.”

The campaign has now launched at six of McArthurGlen’s centres around the UK, and is the company’s biggest fashion campaign of the year.
