A YORK attraction is looking for candidates for what they call “the job interview from Hell”.

York Maze wants to hire 50 people to work at the maze during the Halloween season, and say they have devised a “devilish interview process” for potential employees.

Candidates will be grilled by a team of interviewers, then presented with a basket of Halloween costumes and challenged to scare the team.

Tom Pearcy, from York Maze, said: “We are looking for the right souls to fill vacancies in all areas of the business, from catering staff, to shop staff and people to run our family Halloween attractions. We are also seeking staff to work the Hallowscream nights as part of the acting team. This is a demanding role as you will be playing the part of a zombie, monster or other demon in one of the five haunted houses. However no acting experience is necessary as successful candidates will attend our scare school where they will learn the art of scaring people.

“People may think we’re being a bit over the top with the spooky Halloween themed interview, but it is planned like that for a reason. We need to make sure the staff we recruit can cope with working in a scary environment and have an outgoing personality.”
