THE National Railway Museum in York is the UK's sixth best-rated museum in a 'Travellers Choice' award scheme run by the travel site TripAdvisor.
The museum in York is also 19th in Europe in this year’s awards, which honour top travel spots worldwide based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers.
Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for museums worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.
Jim Lowe, NRM Head of Operations, said coming sixth and 19th was outstanding, given the quality of the competition and was testament to the tireless work of staff and volunteers.
