THE annual open day at York Minster’s Stoneyard will be held on Friday, September 12.
The Minster’s Works Department, which is responsoble for the maintenance, repair and restoration of the Minster, will show the public around areas of the cathedral which are usually off-limits and give demonstrations of their specialist craft and trade skills.
Visitors can meet the team and join guided tours between 9.30am and 3pm. Activities are free, but donations are welcome.
Tickets for a special tour of the Masons’ Lodge and the East Front lift cost £7.50 per person and are available in advance from the box office or at boxoffice.yorkminster.org.
