YORK’S Monks Cross Shopping Park is holding a big butterfly roadshow on Saturday, September 6 to celebrate its new butterfly gardens.
In partnership with Askham Bryan College and Butterfly Conservation, centre staff have worked with six local primary schools to design and plant butterfly gardens at the shopping park.
The roadshow runs from 11am until 4pm, and will include CBeebies star Mr Bloom who will be performing his live show on stage.
There will also be face painting, music, dancing from Perform York and Razzamataz and the chance to learn more about butterflies.
Katherine Sharp, centre manager, said: “It has been a great summer for our butterfly gardens and we are really looking forward to the roadshow to celebrate their success.
“We are really excited about welcoming Mr Bloom to Monks Cross and having the opportunity to show him the green-fingered work of the city’s children.”
