THE resurgence of a classic pub game in York looks set to continue.
A bar-billiards league was set up in the city last year, and has grown to include six tables in five pubs.
A sixth pub is also now looking to join and there is competition between pubs for a table that the league organisers bought online, they say.
Last weekend, a select York team hosted a team from Sheffield for a mammoth match that took in all the York venues. York led 5-1 early on but lost 10-7.
Ben Thorpe, from the York team, said: "We had a fantastic day, made some new friends and surely have created the appetite to run a return visit. Massive thanks to all the venues for making us at home and particularly to the guys from Sheffield for making the effort to come up and see us."
