TWO walkers had to be rescued after getting into difficulties on the North York Moors.
The first rescue came at 1.30 pm on Saturday when 17-year-old boy who was involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award challenge sustained a severe muscular strain and was having difficult carrying on with the challenge.
Because he was in an isolated section of the moor near Egton Bridge, a supervisor had called for help.
The second call came at 7am on Sunday morning when a coast-to-coast walker camping close to the Cleveland Way and had woken up possibly suffering the effects of food poisoning.
The 19-year-old man from Milton Keynes was stretchered off the moor and down to the waiting ambulance.
