A COUNCILLOR has welcomed the news that a refurbished Post Office is to include new improved access for disabled people.

Cllr Andy D'Agorne represents the Fishergate ward, and had pressed for access ramps and the cracked and uneven forecourt at Broadway Post Office to be improved when the rest of the site is refurbished ready for a reopening as a modernised branch.

Now the Post Office has confirmed that the Postmaster is replacing the shopfront and fitting an automatic door to improve access for disabled people, and will be resurfacing the broken forecourt at the same time - something Cllr D'Agorne was welcomed as "excellent news" for people in his ward.
