YOUNG dancers have received a generous boost to their training studio from a kind-hearted community group.

When Door84 administrator Heidi Haywood approached members of the Minster Lions Club of York she pleaded for help with her ailing club.

The members stepped in and a set of mirrors was mounted on one of the walls to attract new children, make the hall more attractive to other dancing groups, and provide Door84 with a steady income.

The York-based club now rents the space to Derwent Danceworks four times a week offers subsidised Street Dance Classes to children through funding from Shine Magazine.

A spokesman for the Minster Lions Club of York said: “Minster Lions Club of York is very proud of their investment in providing the mirrors for Door84 and are actively working with the group to examine other ways in which they can help.”
