A York housing development has been commended for its health and safety measures in a major national competition.
The Tannery, by David Wilson Homes, on Sheriff Hutton Road, Strensall, was listed in the top 15 sites in the Large Builder category of the 2014 National House-Building Council Health and Safety Awards.
Site manager Jo Hopkins, said: “We take the health and safety of our staff very seriously and we are very proud of the commendation as it recognises all of the hard work put in by the team at The Tannery.”
The site was inspected three times and had to satisfy criteria including the quality of its scaffolding, welfare facilities and its communication with the local community.
