VOLUNTEERS are wanted to help monitor the welfare of North Yorkshire’s prisoners.
Independent custody visitors make unannounced visits to police stations in North Yorkshire to speak to people detained in the cells, check their welfare and their conditions.
Julia Mulligan, Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire, wants to recruit volunteers in the Harrogate and Scarborough areas.
