STAFF and volunteers at the Yorkshire Air Museum are celebrating after the museum was awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award for the third year running.

Museum spokesman, Ian Richardson, said: “This is a great vote of confidence for us which has come directly from our visitors, which is the best from of award and recognition.

“It is a reflection of all our staff, particularly the volunteers, who do so much to help us create an interesting and exciting attraction that now boasts seven live jet and propeller aircraft, restored and preserved here, from amongst a broad collection of aircraft and acclaimed exhibitions.

“The museum is being visited by more and more people, many coming to see events such as “thunder days” where our live aircraft are started up on site, close at hand so the audience can see, hear and smell the aircraft as the engines fire up. Even on rainy days, the museum provides an interesting place for visitors, as much is under cover.”
