A SEARCH to find an apprentice has been launched at BBC Radio York.

The broadcaster is offering one fixed-term contract for 15 months, with the trainee earning a Level 3 qualification in Journalism certified by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, while having the chance to apply for broadcast assistant jobs in the BBC.

The search to find an apprentice sees BBC Radio York become the 55th local employer pledging to create a new apprenticeship as part of the York Apprenticeship Challenge 2014 led by City of York Council.

Success for prop maker A MASTER prop maker for some of the biggest blockbuster films in the last ten years has now been accepted into an elite group of furniture crafters.

Craig Narramore, from Northallerton, who has worked on big budget films such as Skyfall, Harry Potter, Batman Begins, Captain America and Sherlock Holmes, has been invited to join the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers as a freeman.
