ORGANISERS of events in York can have their activities promoted by City of York Council as part of a new scheme.

York: Be part of it will run with the Yorkshire Festival and welcome the Tour de France Grand Depart to the city in July.

Councillor Sonja Crisp said: “York: Be part of it already includes over 100 fantastic events and activities in York for the whole family. We’d now like to ask any group, organisation or individual who is holding an event in York between now and the Tour de France to join in and ‘be part of it’.

“York: Be part of it involves new and existing events which have a direct link to arts, culture and/or community engagement. As long as the general public can attend or join in, it will be welcomed to help make York a truly vibrant place to live this spring and summer.”

To submit details of an activity or event, go to york.gov.uk/info/200721/tour_de_france and click on York: Be part of it.

Confirmed events which become part of the programme will be included in the online festival listing at york.gov.uk/info/200721/tour_de_france and yorkfestivals.com
