AN expert from the Alzheimer’s Society has been asked to help give advice on a moving new play for children coming to York

Monday’s Child, which will visit York Theatre Royal from April 22 to 26, tells the story of the unique bond between an old lady and a young girl as they both move through the different stages in their lives.

Peter Ruickbie, Alzheimer’s Society service manager, helped give advice to the touring company tutti frutti.

Peter said: "It can be difficult to explain that an older member of a family or friend has dementia to young children, but Monday’s Child portrays memory loss in a sensitive way which will hopefully help anyone watching the play understand the condition a bit more and help to reduce the stigma that can still surround someone with dementia."
