THE National Trust is looking for people to help it take care of the former York home of the Terry family.

The Terry’s former family home Goddards is an arts and crafts mansion on the edge of the York racecourse. This house and gardens only opened in July 2012 and the National Trust is now aiming to expand what it can offer to visitors.

Volunteer opportunities include conservation work on architecture, juggling in the gardens; creating chocolate orange cakes with our chef in the kitchen, amd growing herbs in the greenhouse.

There are also some roles for welcomers in the house to social media volunteers who look after our Twitter accounts and website.

The house is hosting taster open mornings on Monday, April 7 from 10-11.30am and Sunday April 13 from 9.30-11am to tell people more about becoming a National Trust volunteer at Goddards. Call 01904 771930 to book a place.
