THE maternity ward at York Hospital has shown off £426,000 of improvements to its facilities.
Among the new facilities to be paid for by the Government funding are three refurbished labour rooms including en-suite bathrooms and a new birthing chair and swing and two birthing pool rooms.
Midwife Sue Jackson said: “They are absolutely amazing. The rooms are airy, light and spacious.
“They are comfortable and the women love them.”
York Hospital has ten birthing rooms in total and two pool rooms.
