Police seek woman over stolen plants

POLICE are looking for a woman suspected of stealing plants from a garden centre near Ripon.

The theft occurred at noon on Tuesday, May 15, at the Himalayan Garden, near Grewelthorpe, and involved hundreds of pounds worth of plants.

A police spokesman said the woman, who had entered the garden without paying, selected several hundred pounds worth of plants which she wanted to pay for with her credit card.

The assistant told her that the card machine was in the tea room, where the woman bought a drink but did not pay for the plants. She then left in a red Range Rover.

The woman is described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall with blonde shoulder-length hair. She and was wearing a faux leather cream jacket, a white jumper and blue chinos.
