Woman is robbed of bag and phone in Harrogate

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was robbed in Harrogate.

The 46-year-old woman was walking along a path between Harlow Avenue and Otley Road, known locally as The Ginnel, at about 7.25pm on Wednesday when two people approached her from behind.

The offenders pushed the woman to the ground before stealing her small black shoulder handbag containing a small amount of money and mobile phone.

The suspects are described as young, wearing dark hoodie tops and black tracksuit bottoms.

DC Kirsten Aldridge, of Harrogate CID, said: “Thankfully the woman was not seriously injured as a result of this incident. However, she was naturally shaken by the experience.

“I ask anyone who can help to identify the youths responsible to contact the police straight away.”
