National gardening week held in Harrogate

NATIONAL Gardening Week is being held in Harrogate this week, with a number of events.

Themed days will be held at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, featuring advisory sessions with the society experts, Harlow Carr gardeners, and garden tours.

Tomorrow, anyone wishing to pursue a career in horticulture can meet experts in dry stone walling, willow weaving and tree surgery. Saturday and Sunday will see activities including sunflower planting, advice on growing vegetables with BBC radio presenter Joe Maiden, sweet pea hanging basket demonstrations, and demonstrations from floral designer Paul Pryke.
