ART and design enthusiasts will heading to Harrogate from Sunday for the British Craft Trade Fair.

Among the work on show at the exhibition from April 15 to 17, will be that of young North Yorkshire designer and illustrator Jessica Hogarth, whose debut collection of prints, cards and homewares products is partly inspired by Robin Hood’s Bay.

Jessica said: “My design work has always been inspired by my local environment or places I have visited, so it makes sense for my debut collection to feature strong influences from Robin Hood’s Bay and the Yorkshire coast.

“Early designs of mine have sold to a varied mix of buyers: from interior designers in Scotland, who used an architectural illustration on wallpaper, to a Korean company that turned my designs into iPhone covers. It’s so surreal to think that someone in Asia will have one of my designs on their iPhone.”

The annual BCTF, which will be held at the Great Yorkshire Showground, showcases hand-made British giftware from over 500 designers and makers to a selection of the country’smost influential trade buyers.
