KNARESBOROUGH residents are being offered free advice on preparing for flooding.
Environment Agency staff and Harrogate Borough Council will visit homes today to encourage people to think about what they can do if flooding is likely and draw up a flood preparation plan.
Danielle Wheatley, an officer for the Environment Agency, said: “Around 200 properties in Knaresborough are at risk of flooding, in particular from the River Nidd.
“We expect flooding to become more common as our climate changes, so it is important to have a plan for your own household.”
