Pensioner dies after being hit by car in Ripon

AN elderly pedestrian hit by a car while on a shopping trip in Ripon has died in hospital.

The 74-year-old woman suffered a severe head injury when she was hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa as she crossed the A61 at Hutton Bank on January 9.

She died in Leeds General Infirmary on Sunday.

Police believe that drivers of a cream-coloured car, which was infront of the black Vauxhall Corsa involved in the collision, and a small red hatchback which was directly behind the Corsa, may have information which could help with their inquiries.
