A DRIVER who attacked another motorist in a moment of apparent road rage is being hunted by police.

The incident happened at about 1pm on Sunday, January 11, on York Road, Knaresborough.

The male driver of a light green people carrier got out of his vehicle and approached the male driver of a red classic Mini and allegedly kicked his car before assaulting him.

Damage was caused to the Mini and the victim was injured, although details have not been released.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward, including the driver of a green Vauxhall Tigra that was ahead of the two vehicles and the driver of a white car that was following them.

Two pedestrians were also present at the time and witnessed the incident .

The alleged offender is described as male, white and in his 30s , around 6ft 2in tall, with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a cream coloured jumper at the time . Also in his vehicle was an older male, a woman and young boy .
