TATTOO fans are set to descend on Harrogate in their hundreds this weekend as one of the UK’s biggest public body art contests comes to town.
Tattoo Royale 2014 takes place at Harrogate International Centre (HIC Yorkshire) on Saturday and Sunday and will feature well known artists.
Show organiser, Amanda Kirkwood said: “Over 120 tattooists will be in attendance, etching their art on their human canvases.”
One of those going under the needle for her first tattoo will be mum-of-four and HIC sales team member, Rebecca Turnbull.
She said: “We’ve been really looking forward to this event because it’s a first for Harrogate and the International Centre. I’ve committed to getting my first tattoo and there’s no bottling out.
“I haven’t quite decided on a design yet so I’m going to have a wander round on Saturday and get some inspiration from all the artists who’ll be there.”
Tattoo Royale opens at noon on Saturday, October 25 (advance access at 11am) and closes at 10pm. It opens at 11.30am (11am for advance) on Sunday and shuts at 7pm.
