PREPARATIONS are well underway for this weekend's Harrogate Autumn Flower Show.
This year's festival will be held at the Great Yorkshire Showground and will be from open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm (4.30pm Sunday).
Among other attractions visitors can expect to see a special fruit and veg tribute to the Scottish referendum, which takes place just a few days after the show, and ideas from York RSPB on how to create a space to suit both birds and the human visitors to the garden.
There will also be a new feature called Inspiration Street, featuring a range of small scale designs aimed at giving homeowners ideas for tricky front gardens.
Nick Smith, show director, said: “Thousands of UK homes feature a small front garden and many people struggle to make the most of the space. We hope this new concept in show gardens will help to convince visitors that the front garden doesn’t have to be just a home for the household wheelie bin, there is lots you can do with the right inspiration.”
Tickets on the gate cost £16 on Friday and Saturday and £14.50 on Sunday .
