A PET dog has been rescued from a flat fire in North Yorkshire.
Family dog Cindy was rescued unharmed by fire crews working to extinguish the fire in Franklin Road in Harrogate yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus had been sent in to the smoke-filled flat as the incident was initially being treated as if people were inside.
They didn’t find any residents, but discovered the pet.
