A CHARITY which helps children with hearing difficulties in York has celebrated it's tenth birthday.
About 200 people gathered at Stockeld Park, near Wetherby, last Saturday to celebrate a decade of work by Lollipop, which provides activities for children with hearing loss and their families.
Charity chairman, Andrea Gitsham, said: "Despite the changeable weather a good time was had by all, with the children and their parents enjoying the numerous activities on offer including roller skating, go karting and space hopper races.
"Circus style Entertainment was provided by circus skills performer James Bazley, whilst music was provided by the fabulous New York brass band. The band really entered into the spirit of the occasion, interacting with the children, some of whom, even though profoundly deaf, could nevertheless ‘hear’ the music via the vibrations of the various instruments.
"Lollipop would like to thank Stockeld Park and everyone involved in making this event such a great success."
