Police caught three of the four, plus a fifth man, in a garage where they had just harvested skunk cannabis in Boroughbridge Road, Ripon, York Crown Court heard.

Experts estimated their sophisticated set-up had produced 11.2kg of cannabis and could have netted them £80,000 in street deals.

The four arrested at the garage, who all pleaded guilty to a similar charge, were: James Cook, 31, of Yeadon, Leeds, who was jailed for nine months; Ivan Bellwood, 46, and Peter Leek, 37, both of Leeds, who were each jailed for six months; and Grant Bilton, 22, of Leeds, who received a suspended prison sentence.
