A TEENAGE girl was killed after being hit by a train at a railway platform just outside Harrogate.
The incident happened shortly after 9.15am this morning (Friday) at Pannal Railway Station on the Harrogate to Leeds line.
A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) said: "BTP officers were called to Pannal railway station in Harrogate today following reports of a female being struck by a train.
"Officers from BTP and North Yorkshire Police attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 9.18am, and is not being treated as suspicious.
"Officers are currently working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and formally identify the deceased who is believed to be a 17-year-old female from Harrogate, and inform her next of kin.
“A file will be prepared for the Coroner."
