FIREFIGHTERS were called out yesterday to help pump out basements in East Park Road, Harrogate, and Scalby Road, Scarbrough, following heavy rain.
Roads were also temporarily flooded around the county, with several inches of water reported to be covering both sides of Elvington Lane near the school in Elvington, near York.
The beck on Main Street water was also said to be high, with water bubbling up through manhole covers.
