A MAN has been arrested and charged with a public order offence and criminal damage, following an incident on a train in North Yorkshire.
The incident occurred on a train between Leeds and Harrogate at about 11.30pm on Wednesday, October 24, when a Leeds United fan verbally abused a female conductor, and allegedly kicked a hole in a panel on the inside of the train.
Following the release of CCTV images by British Transport Police to help trace the man, a BTP spokeswoman said Paul Derek Maxwell, 52, of Byland Grove, Harrogate, handed himself in to police, and was interviewed and charged. Maxwell will appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on December 6.
