A FOUR-HOUR search and rescue operation was launched after a dog became trapped in a cave.
Cocker Spaniel Basil got wedged into a cave behind the The Union village pub, at Calcutt, near Knaresborough, at about 10am yesterday.
Firefighters, assisted by the Cave Rescue Team and the RSPCA, worked together with specialist equipment to free the dog.
