Olympic challenge for youngsters

YOUNGSTERS can take part in an Olympic-style challenge of their own.
Hambleton District Council has organised the event, which includes athletics, swimming, rowing, badminton, tennis, basketball, hockey, football and cycling in both individual and team tasks, as part of its Hyper Holidays programme for those aged eight years and over.
Heats will take place at each of the district council-owned leisure centres and winners from each heat will compete in the grand final at Hambleton Leisure Centre on August 10.
Heats at Stokesely are on August 6, 9am to noon, Northallerton August 6, 1 to 4pm, Bedale, August 7, 9am to noon, and Thirsk, August 7, 1 to 4pm.
