Stewards sought for Olympic relay
8:51am Wednesday 9th May 2012 in News
Hambleton and Richmondshire District Council is appealing for volunteers to help ensure the safe passage of the Olympic torch through North Yorkshire.
Two hundred stewards are required to line the route of the relay from the torch’s arrival by steam train in Thirsk all the way to Richmond on June 20.
Stewards are not required to physically control the crowd and are expected to provide information to on-lookers and assess safety.
Volunteers must also be available for two briefing sessions on May 28 and 30.
