Workshop blaze near Easingwold

FIREFIGHTERS from across York and North Yorkshire tackled a large fire in a workshop near Easingwold.

Crews from Easingwold and Helmsley, as well as the aerial ladder platform from York, were called to the premises in Stillington Road in Brandsby, at about 11.15am yesterday.

Due to the severity of the fire, two further engines from Acomb and the water bowser from Boroughbridge were also sent.

Crews used several hoses to control the flames. The fire was extinguished at 3pm. Further details about the cause of the fire were expected to be released by the fire service today.
