A NEW strategy has been launched to tackle homelessness in Hambleton.
The five-year plan by Hambleton District Council will work to reduce the number of homeless young people, adults and families, and will start with an eight-week consultation asking partner organisations and members of the public for comments.
The key principles of the scheme are to provide anyone at risk of homelessness with support, ensure rough sleepers spend no more than one night on the streets and supporting the young homeless, and offering training, education and employment to help them rebuild their lives.
The draft strategy is available at hambleton.gov.uk by searching under housing.
